Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees evaluates the proposals received for the Augarten Atelier - it consists of experts from the fields of art, culture and science, who also offer assistance with their know-how.

These are briefly presented below:

Danielle Spera
Chairwomen
Cultural Manager

She is a journalist and former moderator for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), served as the director of the Jewish Museum and currently edits the Jewish magazine NU. She is also a passionate advocate for cultural heritage and the promotion of contemporary art.

Karin Bergmann
Theater professional, cultural manager and impresaria.

She was for many years director of the Vienna Burgtheater, one of the most renowned theaters in Europe. She has also initiated important artistic projects and collaborations.

Eva Schlegel
Visual artist

Is known for her installations and works in the fields of photography and painting. From 1997 to 2006 she was a university professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 2011 she was a commissioner for the Austrian pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale. 

Markus Hengstschläger
Geneticist and author

Teaches at the Medical University of Vienna and heads the Institute of Medicine and Genetics. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of genetics. 

Edek Bartz
Musician, concert organizer, curator, author, lecturer 

Produced and toured with Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and the Rolling Stones, among others. Lecturer at the University of Applied Arts. Co-founder of the avant-garde music festival Töne - Gegentöne. From 2005-2009 artistic director of the Vienna Fair.

Timna Brauer
Musician, visual artist and curator

Is an acclaimed Austrian singer, known for her blend of jazz, world music and classical vocals. She is the daughter of the famed artist Arik Brauer and is committed to preserving his cultural heritage.
